Glenzeil awarded Beenleigh Police Station Extension & Refurbishment

The Beenleigh Police Station is set for a $7.6 million upgrade with construction of the station's new state-of-the art facilities underway.  Gold Coast commercial construction specialist Glenzeil was awarded the project at the end of 2010.

The three-stage upgrade of the Beenleigh Police Station is due for completion by the end of 2011.

The first stage will include various external works from a new cross over to the site from James Street, provision of a new generator, upgraded car park and a new entry from Kent Street.

Stage two construction is the extension southern end of the station.


Accommodation will be provided for the new regional communications centre, criminal investigation branch, child protection investigation unit and expanded exhibits/property store as well as a radio and electronics workshop.

The final stage was refurbishment of the existing station.

Refurbishment accommodation will be provided on the ground floor for the station Officer-in-Charge, duty sergeant's area, reception area, administration, intelligence and uniform inquiry areas as well as upgrades to the existing areas ablution areas, locker rooms and electronic interview room.

Refurbishment accommodation will also be provided on the first floor for support areas for the new Regional Communications Centre, conference room, prosecutions and locker room.
