Glenzeil to build Serene Living

Serene Living has appointed Gold Coast builder Glenzeil to construct the $46 million luxury over 55's resort on the Tweed.  Glenzeil will start construction works mid May.  Glenzeil project manager Paul Garland said "We are very excited to be building the Serene Living project which will have terrific green credentials.  It is set to become a true sanctuary for its residents with a rooftop garden - one of the largest of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere".

Murwillumbah High Trade Training Centre is under construction

Construction is underway at Murwillumbah High School to deliver industry level training facilities for Certificate III in Aquaculture, Horticulture and General Agriculture. The facility will have industry specific training areas and shared general space for training.  This is one of 6 education projects for Glenzeil.

Gold Coast commercial builder, Glenzeil Pty Ltd is currently working on 5 High School Development projects across Queensland as part of the Building the Education Revolution (BER) Scheme.

Building the Education Revolution is a $14.7 billion national investment from the Australian Government which is part of the Nation Building Economic Stimulus Plan. The Australian Government is aiming to build learning environments to help children, families and communities participate in activities that will support achievement, develop learning potential and bring communities together.  BER projects comprise of three programs:

Glenzeil is currently working o  upgrading Moorooka State School, Sandgate State School, Crestmead state School Kindergarten, Cavendish Road State High School and Miami State high School.

Glenzeil awarded Beenleigh Police Station Extension & Refurbishment

The Beenleigh Police Station is set for a $7.6 million upgrade with construction of the station's new state-of-the art facilities underway.  Gold Coast commercial construction specialist Glenzeil was awarded the project at the end of 2010. The three-stage upgrade of the Beenleigh Police Station is due for completion by the end of 2011. The first stage will include various external works from a new cross over to the site from James Street, provision of a new generator, upgraded car park and a new entry from Kent Street. Stage two construction is the extension southern end of the station.

Accommodation will be provided for the new regional communications centre, criminal investigation branch, child protection investigation unit and expanded exhibits/property store as well as a radio and electronics workshop. The final stage was refurbishment of the existing station. Refurbishment accommodation will be provided on the ground floor for the station Officer-in-Charge, duty sergeant's area, reception area, administration, intelligence and uniform inquiry areas as well as upgrades to the existing areas ablution areas, locker rooms and electronic interview room. Refurbishment accommodation will also be provided on the first floor for support areas for the new Regional Communications Centre, conference room, prosecutions and locker room.

Wolston Park Hospital well underway

Glenzeil started the $7million Wolston Park Hospital project in March 2010 and it is on track for completion just before Easter. Glenzeil was awarded the extension works to the main hospital for the criminally insane and also appointed works in a high security area

Glenzeil completes Senior Living Units at Casino, NSW

Ten Senior Living Units have been completed by Glenzeil in Waratah Street, Casino.  The development is part of the NSW Government Economic Stimulus Scheme to provide additional low cost housing to the State's senior citices.  The development conists of two adaptable styles and eight standard style layouts.

All buildings have been designed and built to reflect the requirements of the BASIX including such initiatives as thermal comfort, reduced energy consumption and a 22,000 litre rainwater retention tank servicing a reuse supply for toilet flushing, clothes washing and irrigation.

H2O Apartments – Varsity Lakes

The luxurious H20 Apartments in Varsity Lakes is a $22million project completed in 2009.  H20 was the last new waterfront development on The Quay – the vibrant lakefront precinct of Varsity lakes. Close to the lively shopping and dining of Market Square, H2O is a rare combination of boutique apartment and villa home lifestyles. 

The project included:

-16 attached villa homes

38 Riverwalk – Robina

38 Riverwalk is a nine level high end unit development, and is the signature building for the Riverwalk precinct in Robina.  The $15million project was completed in 2009 for Robina Land Corporation.
The project included:

·         43 north-east facing two and three bedroom apartments with coast views

·         Luxury interior finishes and appliances

·         Lush native landscaping

·         Elegant water features

·         Stylish horizon edge swimming pool

·         Residents’ outdoor entertaining and function area

VDM Group were appointed as structural engineers on these projects.  Construction of H20 Apartments and 38 Riverwalk was carried out by Glenzeil Pty Ltd.

Glenzeil awards Master Kelwin bulk of Gold Coast flooring projects.

Glenzeil Pty Ltd has a longstanding relationship with Master Kelwin and has contracted the flooring specialist the majority of its commercial construction projects on the Gold Coast.

Glenzeil awarded Delfin’s Varsity landmark contracts

Glenzeil Pty Ltd, based on the Gold Coast has a longstanding relationship with Delfin Lend Lease and has been contracted to build signature Varsity Lakes projects  including Market Square, Compaq and Aspect.

Market Square was completed in 2000, and is today the thriving business centre of Varsity Lakes.  The $26 million project includes an office and retail precinct, and set the bar for similar community developments on the Gold Coast.

Aspect @ Varsity is a 3 level office building complete with basement, street level car parking and entry from two streets, Varsity Parade and Bellvue Drive.

Glenzeil was responsible for the Design & Construct of the project.  The work involved constructing 3 suspended concrete slabs around a central lift core, a structural steel framed roof with metal sheeting and guttering, core filled block work and render.

Glenziel was also responsible for delivering a 4 Star Green Star and 4.5 Star AGBR rated project. The process involved in achieving this rating  added many features to the building including bike racks, grey and roof water recycling and the use of double glazing throughout the project.

Compaq was a $5million office development completed in 2000.  The building was designed to house leading IT heavyweights like Boeing, Compaq, AAPT and Cellular One.

Glenzeil's clients include Southern Cross University

In 2009, Glenzeil completed the $14 million development of Building A.

Building ‘A’ is the first of twelve buildings which will form the new Southern Cross University Campus at Gold Coast Airport. The site is situated at the southern end of the airport land and to the east of the main runway.
Building ‘A’ is a four storey multi purpose building which will house the University’s reception and administration offices, student services facilities, library, teaching and lecture rooms as well as an IT Lab. The structure has been changed recently, through discussions with the consultants and Glenzeil, to be predominately precast vertical elements with conventional suspended slabs. The precast was seen to be an advantage in time, cost and guaranteed finish. Woodhead Architects have selected a myriad of external finishes to give the building an eye catching appearance including off form concrete panels, alpolic, curtain walling, louvres and sunshades.
Although this building is not seeking a green star rating certain green start properties have been explored including glazing and sun shading, AC zoning, rainwater harvesting, low flush urinals, automatic light switching to occupied zones and provision of bike storage and changing facilities. There have also been a number of initiatives that were deemed unviable at this time including wind turbines, siphonic drainage, photovoltaic cells and solar hot water.

Glenzeil completes Hotel Refurbishments in Central Queensland

Glenzeil has completed works for the Central Queensland Hotels Group to refurbish two hotels, one in Dysart, the other in Blackwater. The works included new internal and external walls, additional bar servery, a new bottle shop and services.

The project added a gaming room and bottle shop to the Jolly Collier Hotel in Dysart, and transformed the old manager’s quarters into a new “sundeck bar” at the Blackwater Hotel.
